Piped down.

Sad to say, there will be no Pipe Down update this week. Lucy was taken sick with appendicitis on Monday and had to have surgery a couple of days ago.

She is now recovering in bed, watching marathon episodes of trash TV.

If you simply can’t wait for your next hit of Pipe Down Piper, why not head out to the newsagents and read her latest article in Triathlon and Multisport Magazine? (Make sure you buy the magazine – don’t just stand there reading it in WH Smiths, they get really angry when you do that. So we’re been told…)*

*This is actually Lucy writing, but I thought it sounded a bit more dramatic if I wrote in the third person, like some kind of emergency ghostwriter had been hired to look after my blog…

  1. […] you may already have read, I got struck down with appendicitis just over two weeks ago. I was rushed into hospital. It hurt […]

And I thought you were getting so big you had “people” 🙂

    Get well soon.

  5. Oh, Lucy! Get well and tell your ghostwriter to take a break, lol. I’ll look for your article in that magazine if I can get a copy in the states.

Don’t overdo the trash TV BooBoo.
    Get better soon.

  7. Speedy recovery to you! Thank goodness it happened well after your race—kinda scary. Feel better!

Oh Lucy! I had mine out in an emergency, 2 weeks before I was supposed to ‘Run for the Kids’, I think that’s prob my weak comparison to your Ironman! I cant explain why but afterwards my general health was heaps better so no doubt you’ll be a new & improved version of Lucy.

    • Quite a few people have contacted me to say the same thing – that they felt a new, fresh bill of health after getting it out – apparently it stores heaps of bacteria and can offset your whole internal balance. Who knows… How are you doing Karla?? xxx

Feel better and heal up!! ❤

Funny, I was in my local newsagent flicking through that edition, looking for Ironman Melbourne coverage (and to see if I got my photo in there again…)

    • And did you get your pic in there??? 🙂

      • Andy says:

A couple of years ago I won a 12 month subscription by finding the croc and Tim’s face in the free copy they gave us at a Gatorade race. 10 months later I found my pic in the “is this you” section of my free copy and won another 12 months. In my Ironman Melb kit there was an old edition, sure enough, it was the one with my photo!

        This time, nothing…

  11. It definitely sounds more dramatic! Hope you get well soon! 🙂
