I get a little over-excited at Christmas; the anticipation of eating until I collapse, and then topping it all off with eggnog, before passing out beneath a sweet-smelling pine tree covered in fairy lights, is one of my most vivid and recurring dreams. And I get to live it out unashamedly for that one special day of the year. Tomorrow. Christmas. I love that guy.
But this year, something beyond-awesome happened right before Christmas, making it feel like Santa picked me as his favourite kid in the whole world. Actually, THREE things happened, pretty much all at the same time. I will list them as follows:
1) Swim squad was free – I gave the nice lady my card when I went to pay the $13.50, and she said “would you like to pay wave?” and I said “why, yes please” and then she tried to tap my card but the battery of the machine was flat, so she said I could pay on the way out. On the way out, I went to pay, and a different nice lady said I didn’t have to. Christmas Eve Swim Squad was FREE!! Happy Christmas!!
2) Bicycles Inc took a surprise 50% off at the counter – I went to buy a Christmas present today, and they were feeling extra generous, so only charged me half!! Happy Christmas!!
and finally (my favourite of all the early Christmas pressies):
3) Coeur Sports added me to their team of 2014 ambassadors – this is the most ridiculously brilliant news I’ve had in a long time. I’ve been a long-time follower of a blog by a girl named Katie Morse (http://triingforpro.wordpress.com/), and a few months ago, she posted pictures of her new Coeur Sprots tri kit. I thought it looked pretty damn hot, so I headed over their website to take a look, and perhaps browse for a sleek little tri kit for myself. When I got to the website (http://www.coeursports.com/) there was a callout for brand ambassadors. I was on their website to buy myself a kit anyway, so I thought I might as well have a stab at an application. I ended up spending a great deal of time on it, as it was the first time I had ever really assessed what sport means to me, and how far I’ve come in the past 18 months, and where I want to go and how I want to help other people in a similar position. When I was finished, I hit send without really thinking I stood a chance. And then this happened:
I am so astonished and grateful to have been chosen. And am so overly excited about being a part of the Coeur Ambassador team, I’m running around like a little kid on Christmas morning. So come tomorrow, I will actually BE a (big) kid on Christmas morning, running around like a little kid on Christmas morning.
Anyway folks, I’ve got so much more to report, but will do a bit of a 2013 wrap-up in a few days. But this was just so exciting that I wanted to share. So please, help me convince them they’ve made a good choice by heading to http://www.coeursports.com and finding yourself some rad sportswear. It’s what all the cool kids will be wearing in 2014…
And of course, HAPPY CHRISTMAS. xxx.
