Thank you America, you were wild. (I love you, and I’m coming back soon.)

I’m finally starting to get settled back into real life after our amazing trip to the USA. Last time you heard from me, I was drinking gin and tonics in Palm Springs, and recapping on Las Vegas 70.3 aka hardest-day-of-my-life. Some of my readers have told me that my race report was quite harrowing, so apologies for that. And apologies to my Nan who said she cried as she read it aloud to my 92 year old granddad – sorry!

But the good news is: I’m ok! I’m made it out the other side! Hurrah! Despite hating triathlon for a good 6 hours and 14 minutes, I have since reconsidered and am back out on my bike and in the pool. I’ve even found myself a new coach who is based over in the USA, which is very exciting as it means I am now accountable to someone and can’t just be lazy and skip my pool sessions. And don’t panic – nothing has happened to our former coach (he didn’t fire me for my dismal performance at Vegas. Well at least, I don’t think so…), he is studying to get into medical school so has passed us on to new coaches so that they can build on the astonishing work that he has done with us over the past 18 months…

I don’t have much to report yet, as I’m only just trying to get a bit of fitness back and get back into the swing of training. But I thought I’d post a few shots from our big trip over to the World Championships. I fell for America, big style. I’ll be coming back soon, I promise…

California. Rugged, sexy California. I love you.

Vegas dreams.

Palm Springs, I love you.

So what if I ate it?
